Works Progressing on HPA’s Rural Grand Design

HPA’s latest grand design is well underway in the village of Silverdale, as progress continues with incredible quality work being executed by the contractors on site.

Tucked away within the Silverdale & Arnside National Landscape, the contemporary, high quality design home is heavily influenced by its agricultural surroundings and the project focuses particularly upon sustainability and accessibility.

Designed to be a future-proof, forever home for the clients, the form of the building is a sympathetic yet modern approach to the new vernacular of rural housing across Silverdale and the surrounding area.

As part of the development, an air source heat pump and solar panels have been included to ensure that the house benefits from an EPC A rating. Electric car charging points and special treated glazing to ensure maximum heat efficiency are also included to further improve sustainability.

As the site is located within the National Landscapes area, the impact on the character of the landscape was at the core of the scheme. In order to ensure the building is sympathetic to this, the design is located in a low area and was designed to appear as a barn, using natural materials to help the building blend in with its surroundings. Black timber cladding was chosen externally to create a look similar to the agricultural buildings and arts and crafts detailing that are commonly found in the area.

We look forward to the works progressing further.
