Working Hard on Leisure Projects
It may have been a strange year for some, with furlough and lockdown keeping many people away from work, but at HPA Chartered Architects we have been kept busy, especially in the leisure sector. As the UK ‘staycation’ becomes ever more popular, with site owners preparing for an expected boom in UK holiday makers staying within the country in 2021, we have a number of exciting leisure industry projects in development.
The leisure sector experts
We have remained strong and maintained our workload in the leisure sector, despite the challenging situation. This is because we have delivered exceptional leisure industry projects and can be called on when it comes to architecture, project management and planning. Over the last forty years, HPA have been proud to be part of a huge number of leisure projects, ranging from high quality caravan and camping sites, to luxury hotel developments. Our experience in the sector ranges from the sympathetic restoration and repurposing of heritage buildings to innovative new glamping, pod-based holiday accommodation
Major projects
One of the mainstays of our work over the last 40 years , has been our work in the Touring Caravan Sector. This includes designing over 40 Caravan Club sites and more recently working with Camping in the Forest and the Camping and Caravanning Club.
We have also worked on a wide range of prestigious luxury hotel projects over the years, that we are hugely proud to have been part of. These include Hipping Hall, where we have overseen a series of extensions and refurbishments to a historic building covering more than a decade. This led to our involvement in the restoration of The Forest Side Hotel & Restaurant an historic Grade II-listed Cumbrian hotel offering a Michelin star restaurant.
We drew on this experience in our work on the former Rampsbeck Hotel, on the shores of Ullswater, which has now been transformed into the exclusive and award-winning Another Place Hotel. Our highly skilled team of Chartered Architects have also been involved in countless other leisure and hospitality projects including bars and restaurants across Lancaster, the South Lakes and beyond.
In-depth understanding
We strongly believe that all architecture should have people at its heart, but this is particularly true when it comes to leisure. In this sector, the needs and expectations of users are paramount, and the experience of their environment is key to its success. HPA Chartered Architects’ knowledge and expertise makes us a clear choice for leisure projects in the North West and across the UK.
Much more to come
We will shortly be sharing HPA’s new exciting leisure industry projects, as we demonstrate our industry leading expertise with projects large and small across the country. We’re always keen to hear about new development projects in the sector, so if you have a leisure project that you think could benefit from our experience, we’d love to hear from you.
