We are hiring: Studio Manager
HPA Architects are a renowned architectural design practice known for their versatility; spanning projects from contemporary commercial and leisure developments to bespoke residential designs and the meticulous restoration of heritage buildings across the UK. Our studio, situated in a converted warehouse in Lancaster’s historic city centre, overlooks the Castle and is conveniently located a short walk from the train station.
HPA Architects are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic candidate to become part of the team as Studio Manager. With a wide spectrum of responsibilities, the position demands adaptability and capable task management, along with excellent collaborative skills to ensure the smooth running of projects in the studio.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of a dynamic and forward-thinking architectural firm.
- Provide support to directors and architects including diary management, travel arrangements, and task coordination
- Assist team with project assistance and document management, including document handling and uploading, pack preparation and meeting management.
- Monitor and take ownership of the studio project management software (Jira), ensuring the efficient operation of projects.
- Employee engagement and support, including new starter set up. Enforcing studio policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate bids, competitions and awards, working closely with the director to prepare submissions and proactively identifying opportunities.
- Assisting in the development of new business opportunities, which involves updating contact lists and setting targets, as well as conducting research for events and networking opportunities.
- Managing marketing and social media tasks, such as monitoring monthly and annual coverage goals, reaching out to publications with project updates and news opportunities, updating the website, and executing social media campaigns.
- Oversee the management of CPD training and learning programs in the studio.
- Demonstrate proactive ownership of team activities, including organising office celebrations and events to enhance the positive work culture.
- Serving as the primary point of contact internally and externally, handling incoming calls, postal correspondence, and administration email inbox.
- Supervising the studio assistants and helping with administrative duties such as filing, stationery, ordering supplies and office organisation.
We are looking for candidates with qualities that include:
- Team Leader / Management experience and/or PA experience.
- Confident in Microsoft tools such as Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Discrete, personable, and professional.
- Strong team player.
- Experience in online marketing.
- Demonstrated interest in the bid process and business development.
- An interest in architecture and the built environment.
- Experience with InDesign and Powerpoint preferred.
- GDPR and ISO compliancy awareness would be an advantage.
- Experience with Jira or similar project management system would be an advantage.
