The Samling Awarded Michelin Star
Long-term client of HPA, The Samling has been awarded a Michelin Star in the 2023 restaurant guide.
Described by the Michelin guide as ‘one of the best restaurants in Cumbria’ – The Samling’s restaurant sits in the heart of the Lake District, overlooking lake Windermere.
Now widely considered the ‘foodie capital’ of the North, the Lake District continues to lead the way in British gastronomy. 2023 saw Cumbria awarded 13 stars across the region, making it the county with the most stars outside of London. This is testament to the Lake District restaurant scene and the incredible work being done in the area by the chefs who are deeply inspired by the local produce of the area and the dramatic surroundings. The Samling is one of a number of leading restaurants in the area that grows its own produce on site in it’s kitchen gardens.
HPA’s most recent work with The Samling, converting an existing barn into an additional, more relaxed dining experience, The Gathering. This new building also overlooks the gardens and woodland, all with undisturbed views across Lake Windermere.
