Zoe Hooton

MA Conservation of the Historic Environment

Zoe joined HPA in 2012, qualifying as an architect while working. She became a director in October 2016.

After studying architecture at Newcastle University, Zoe continued at postgraduate level at Kingston University, London, where she won a scholarship to study in Auckland, New Zealand.

Zoe started her career in Newcastle, working in a successful architecture studio on a number of high-end residential schemes in Northumberland. She later moved to Assael in London, an AJ100 practice, working among a large team developing a £150 million mixed-use scheme.

Zoe has a keen interest in the conservation of historic buildings and is on the approved list of surveying architects for the Diocese of Blackburn. She has also recently passed her MA in the Conservation of the Historic Environment which she studied at Birmingham City University.

Zoe’s main role within the practice is managing jobs onsite along with the process and design of developments through to completion.

Recent projects Zoe has been involved in are St Peter’s Church Hall in Heysham, Furness College Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centre, Acorn House for the Bendrigg Trust, the British Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Centre, and the stunning Ullswater hotel Another Place, The Lake.

When she is not working Zoe can be found somewhere outside, either running, cycling or swimming. She enjoys participating in outdoor events including the London Marathon.
