Luke Jackson
Luke joined the HPA team in September 2023, having previously worked at Ben Cunliffe Architects Ltd as Senior Architect. Luke undertook his Architecture undergraduate degree (part 1) and Diploma (part 2) at Nottingham University, completing these in 2009. He went on to qualify as a registered Architect in 2013 after completing his part 3 at Bath University. His time studying cemented his particular interest in creative design and environmental sustainability.
Starting his architectural career initially working for Allies & Morrison Architects in London, Luke then moved to Alex Oliver Associates in Wiltshire. Here he designed traditional and bespoke country houses. Furthering his interest in oak frame structures, he also worked for a company called ‘The Complete Oak Home’ as their principal architect, designing bespoke oak framed homes.
During his time with Ben Cunliffe Architects, in addition to assisting with the management of the practice and implementing the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM – Revit), he designed a variety of contemporary new houses and extensions in and around the Lake District. One of his greatest achievements to date is the design work for a high-quality contemporary extension to a grade II listed barn and scheduled ancient monument. Luke is passionate about designing beautifully crafted, high-quality buildings and environments, which improve and enrich people’s lives. Having a varied and creative education and career, he relishes the opportunity to put his creative skills into practice, with the aim of designing architecture that not only looks good but performs well.
Based in Kendal, outside of work Luke can be found walking in the Lakes with his dog Maisey, sailing, or being musical with his local church and pub folk group.
