Silverdale New Build Home Achieves Completion
Positioned on the shore of Jenny Brown’s Point in the Silverdale and Arnside National Landscape, overlooking the National Trust and Morecambe Bay, this house and its landscape create a modern rural family home wedged within a gap of limestone paving and a protected landscape.
The house design is the result of a careful partnership between the homeowners and Wilson Builds, built to Passivhaus standards using wood fibre eco boarding, Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and photovoltaic (PV) roof panels to provide a healthy home. HPA have overseen the entire process from beginning to completion, supported by Woohoo Sustainability Consultancy in executing a house to modern environmental standards, but with simple technology and home comforts, leading interior finishes and collaborating with craftsmen from Hout, and the Wilson team.
This house is a reflection of the homeowner’s values grounded in sustainability, energy and thermal efficiency, metered with sensitivity to the landscape, ecology and setting. Committed to long‑term quality and performance, the homeowner had a clear ambition to replace a poorly performing bungalow with a high‑quality, low‑energy family home.
