Repairs Underway At The Grand Theatre
The façade repairs are well underway at The Grand Theatre, Lancaster. This process will focus on restoring and redecorating the external façade and windows, with construction already begun.
The Grand Theatre stands as the third oldest, continually operating, theatre outside of London, and is Grade II Listed – falling within the HAZ. Subsequently, HPA and the Theatre’s intention for these repairs is to enhance local and historical significance, by replacing the current windows with sliding sash windows that still reflect its heritage and cultural importance to Lancaster.
HPA have been working closely with the Conservation Team and the HAZ in order to begin by fixing the render beneath the façade, and continue further stages.
