Planning Permission Secured for New Tractor Factory
HPA has helped design and secure Planning Permission for a new tractor factory in Lancashire. The project will see the complete replacement of Siromer Tractors’ main production facility, based in Pilling, which was destroyed by a fire in January 2017.
Siromer Tractors, a local family business established in 1999, was the first company to introduce ‘flat-pack’ tractors to the UK. It has since sold over 4,000 compact tractors that are unique to its own design. Since the fire, the business has been operating from two other units it owns on the Taylors Lane Industrial Estate in Pilling, Wyre.
Zoe Hooton, a director at HPA, said: “While the new factory will sit on the existing site footprint, our design improves the internal arrangement, making it bespoke to Siromer’s production processes. The factory will also have a new glass façade to enable trade customers to view the tractors as they’re being built and there will be a new customer showroom and sales office.”
The project is one of a number of factory design projects HPA has completed this year.
