Planning Applications Submitted for Extensions Near Ulverston & Cumbria
Plans have been submitted to South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) for an exciting extension to a barn near Ulverston.
The proposals involve stripping out an existing 1980’s sun room and replacing it with an exciting oak-framed structure, based on organic form. The sun room will have expansive glazed elevations to take advantage of the views over surrounding countryside.
A new oak balcony structure is also proposed, which replaces the 1980’s bay window. The balcony structure is in the shape of a large oak cruck frame, complimenting the shape of the existing extension.
The inside of the existing building is also being fully refurbished and brought up to current Building Regulation Standards. The design is the result of a collaborative design process involving the client, Oak Manufacturer (Carpenter Oak and Woodlands) and HPA.
