Luxury Lancaster B&B: Experience Modern Elegance at Lancaster Barn
HPA are delighted to congratulate our valued client, Lancaster Barn, for reaching a remarkable achievement that exemplifies the integration of architecture, design, and hospitality.
This October, Lancaster Barn earned a well-deserved feature in The Daily Telegraph article titled ’20 of the Best B&Bs in Britain for a Cosy Autumnal Break’.
It’s an achievement that not only highlights the beauty of Lancaster Barn but also the exceptional work of HPA in bringing this vision to life.
We played a pivotal role in transforming a redundant rural barn into the epitome of luxury bed and breakfast accommodation.
Situated just a few miles south of Lancaster and a short 30-minute drive from the picturesque Lake District, Lancaster Barn stands as an independently owned, attractively restored B&B. Nestled within a 2-acre expanse of private land, this two-storey stone barn has been lovingly brought back to life.
Sustainability and Comfort
What sets Lancaster Barn apart is their unwavering commitment to sustainable luxury. Here, comfort and sustainability go hand in hand. The B&B proudly serves a seasonal home-cooked menu, sourced from its own on-site market garden. HPA Architects designed the project with a focus on preserving the original fabric of the building, using natural stone and slate to maintain its authenticity.
Impeccable Design
Every aspect of Lancaster Barn has been meticulously planned and executed. The guest bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, exude style and charm. The communal breakfast area and dining space feature a delightful Scandi-style aesthetic, while floor-to-ceiling windows offer breath-taking views of the surrounding farmland.
The interior of Lancaster Barn is a testament to exquisite craftsmanship. White oak furniture and a Scandinavian-inspired design create an inviting and cosy atmosphere. Artworks add a touch of originality, and pure wool carpets, sheepskin rugs, and carefully chosen colour palettes make every room a welcoming haven.
Accessibility for All
Lancaster Barn is not just a beautiful destination; it’s an inclusive one. With level thresholds at both entrances, the B&B ensures wheelchair accessibility. There is even a fully accessible ground floor bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, specifically designed to cater to guests with disabilities.
A Complete Transformation
The Lancaster barn project extended beyond the building itself. Extensive landscaping, including new stone walls, enhances the overall appearance of the property, further exemplifying the attention to detail and commitment to excellence that HPA brought to this endeavour.
This accomplishment stands as a testament to the incredible partnership between Lancaster Barn and HPA. We are immensely proud to have played a role in bringing this vision to life and look forward to many more guests experiencing the charming getaway for years to come.
