Lancaster University School of Architecture Tea Talks Now Online
In October last year, HPA Director Zoe Hooton was invited to Lancaster University by Lancaster School of Architecture to participate in a TEA Talks – a series of talks on the theme of Technology, the Environment and the role of Architecture now and in the future.
Now available to watch at your convenience on Youtube, Zoe’s talk on ‘place’ calls to students to think how they experience it.
Zoe’s talk sits alongside 6 other distinguished speakers including Professor Simon Guy on the Climate Emergency, a presentation of research by Dr Katherine Ellsworth-Krabs and a thought provoking question of ‘999 What’s Your Emergency’ with the new head of Professional Studies, Mark Slocombe, calling for urgent action by Architects to think about how they practice. The mornings event was concluded by Dr Ana Rute Costa on the importance of people, followed by a Q&A with the morning’s speakers. The afternoon saw Zoe alongside Professor Ruth Dalton and Professor Deyan Sudjic.
The talks set the tone for the new type of Architecture School in Lancaster, which aims to focus on ‘radical creativity and being creative with a conscience’.
