HPA welcomes Holly to the team on her student placement

Holly Bate has joined HPA to begin her year out in practice (Part 1) after completing her undergraduate Architecture course at the University of Huddersfield in May 2021 where she obtained a first.

Originally from Warrington, Holly has a great interest in timber architecture and community design.

A Part 1 placement is undertaken by graduates who have completed a degree in an Architecture course. It provides invaluable, real world insight into working within the Architecture industry before the student then returns to university to complete a Masters degree and work towards becoming a fully qualified Architect. Hollys role at HPA will include assisting with technical drawings, client presentations and general architectural office support.

Each year hpa employs at least one  Architectural Assistant as part of their commitment to training and developing young students of architecture. Director Zoe Hooton comments that the training and development of our students is something we really pride ourselves on.

hpa have an excellent reputation  for supporting students of architecture throughout their long training with 2 of our students going on to become the RIBA Student Presidents and Director being published on our approach.  https://www.ribabooks.com/defining-contemporary-professionalism-for-architects-in-practice-and-education_9781859468470

Placement years for students are an opportunity for students to really understand the realities of working in the business of architecture and for our practice its exciting to have students work alongside us to bring fresh perspectives on schemes.
