HPA Team Strengthen Conservation Knowledge Thanks to the Lancaster HAZ & Historic England
HPA’s Hayley Dufton, Helen Madin and Emma Newport recently attended the RIBA Conservation Course. This was delivered online in April 2021; thanks to generous bursaries offered by the Lancaster High Street Heritage Action Zone (LHSHAZ), a partnership project delivered by Lancaster City Council and Historic England.
The training has enriched the teams understanding of traditional materials and historic fabric along with upskilling the attendees in identifying building defects to find appropriate solutions. Expanding the Conservation and heritage knowledge of our staff assists our specialists Jess Scott; planning and heritage consultant and Director Zoe Hooton RIBA Conservation Architect in delivering sensitive solutions to the repair of heritage assets. This is particularly relevant to our continued work on projects within the LHSHAZ which includes Centenary Church and The Grand Theatre.
