HPA Share Vision for Seafront Site in Morecambe

In 2021 HPA were engaged by Lancaster City Council to produce an early-stage feasibility concept design to inform a valuation of the site, which assisted LCC whilst agreeing to purchase the land. This work was completed prior to the council’s purchase of the site.

Any concept designs/illustrations produced by HPA that relate to the former Frontierland site are HPA’s own interpretation of how the site may look once developed, not Lancaster City Council’s. The concept shows the potential for a creating a vibrant mixed-use sustainable scheme on the site. A series of walking and cycling routes could also be created, to form a connection between the West End and the Promenade in order to expand the network of sustainable transport opportunities in Morecambe.

The city council has since bought the land and is now considering all options before moving ahead with the preparation of formal proposals for the development of the site.
