HPA are pleased to announce that director Zoe Hooton has been approved to join the Diocese of Carlisle list of Architects and Surveyors. Zoe has been approved as an Architect on the Diocese of Blackburn list for a number of years, having worked on a number of Listed Places of Worship.
Recently, Zoe acted as the project architect at the historic Grade II St Oswald’s Church, Warton, where extensive Chancel repairs were required, including building stabilisation and the replacement of cement render with lime.
Zoe has also advised Churches on successful grant Applications to the Heritage Lottery Fund, Government grant schemes, and participated in the Arts Council funded Empowering Design Practices events, which research how community-led design can help empower those who look after historic places of worship to create more open and vibrant and sustainable places.
To expand upon her practical knowledge Zoe gained an additional Masters in the Conservation of Historic Environment at Birmingham City University last year. Her specialist qualification affirms her years of practical experience, working on ecclesiastical and listed buildings throughout Lancashire and Cumbria which has helped lead to this appointment.
