HPA Director Richard Wooldridge becomes new RIBA NW Chair
HPA Director, Richard Wooldridge, is the new North-West Regional Chair for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Richard took over the post on 1st September 2021, and will serve as Regional Chair for the next 2 years.
The new role is a natural progression for Richard for his work within the RIBA. He previously served as Branch President of the Lancaster and Westmorland Society of Architects; and also represented the North-West on the RIBA National Council for 6 years.
The RIBA North-West represents over 4000 members, and covers the area from Cheshire all the way up to the north of Cumbria. The North-West also contains 6 schools of Architecture, producing the next generation of Architects.
Richard explained: “It’s a real honour and privilege to become the RIBA North-West Regional Chair. The North-West contains some incredibly talented Architects, located all over the Region, who care passionately about their work and improving the built-environment in our area.
The Construction Industry is currently at a key point where Building Safety, Energy Efficiency and High-Quality Design are foremost on the public agenda. Architects are highly skilled professionals, who are trained to deliver in all these important issues: and the RIBA NW is there to support members in our area with this critical role. I am really looking forward to working with Lifa Zvimbande and the Regional Team to help with this important task”
