HPA Celebrate 45 years in Business
Last week HPA turned 45 years old! To celebrate we enjoyed a Birthday Brunch at The Herbarium.
Harrison & Pitt Architects, now referred to as HPA, was started by Mike Harrison and Dennis Pitt in 1979 on the ground floor of Dalton Square with two drawing boards and a small client list, which then developed to a practice of 25. The practice was one of the first in the area to introduce computer work stations and modern processes, developed by then director Richard Parker. One of the founders, Dennis Pitt, kindly congratulated and praised the team for the practice’s evolution, which is now based on Castle Hill, Lancaster.

45 years later, HPA are on our 3rd generation of Directors and still have many of the same clients. Our knowledge of designing for the leisure sector has grown, and we have developed to reflect our diverse team. We focus on collaboration and creating a positive legacy of remarkable places.
