Grand Theatre Shortlisted for NWRCA Award

The Grand Theatre, Lancaster has been shortlisted for the North West Regional Construction Awards (NWRCA) 2023.

The recently completed scheme, devised by HPA, has seen the historic Lancaster landmark transformed and has been put forward for a Conservation & Regeneration Award.

The project was supported by grant funding from the Lancaster Heritage Action Zone (HAZ), a collaborative regeneration scheme run in partnership between Historic England and Lancaster City Council. Located in St Leonards Gate, the building is Grade II listed and is thought to be the third oldest theatres in Britain, having been in near continuous use since 1782.

Held in partnership with Constructing Excellence in the North West, the Awards are hosted by the School of Science, Engineering and Environment at the University of Salford and the Centre for Construction Innovation. In it’s 17th year, the annual awards ceremony will be taking place on Thursday 6th July at The Titanic Hotel in Liverpool.

We look forward to seeing the other finalists there on the night!
