Celebrate Heritage Open Days

This year, Lancaster and Morecambe’s Heritage Open Days will take place from the 6th to the 16th of September. The full list of events can be found here, and we’re particularly enthusiastic about Lancaster Grand Theatre’s ‘Meet the Past‘ experience.

The Grand Theatre are current Clients of HPA, where we are working alongside the Heritage Action Zone to implement extensive repairs to the external façade, lighting, and signage at the theatre. As The Grand Theatre has stood as one of the UK’s oldest working theatres, for exactly 240 years, its extensive history remains an important component of HPA’s refurbishment, preserving its longevity and significance in Lancaster.

The Grand Theatre will be showcasing live performances, activities, and even guided walking tours for the event.

Heritage Open Days are the largest annual celebration of heritage and culture across the UK. It is an opportunity for volunteers, the public, and tourists to explore historical landmarks without cost, and celebrate where the past still connects with the present.
