BBC Interior Design Masters – Winner Announced!
HPA have enjoyed following along with this season of Interior Design Masters hosted by Alan Carr on BBC2. Congratulations to the winner Lynsey Ford, who wowed the judges with her design of a holiday villa in Cornwall.
Lynsey, an Architect from Huddersfield, will now have the opportunity to design a room in the luxurious hotel Another Place, The Lake. Based upon the shores of Ullswater, Another Place is a valued client of HPA and you can see more of our work with them here.
HPA was first appointed by Another Place Ltd to draw up plans for a sensitive restoration, refurbishment and extension of the former Rampsbeck Hotel on the shores of Ullswater. Set in 18 acres of the Lake District National Park, our client wanted the hotel to make the most of its unique location and topography, benefiting as it does from a quarter of a mile of lakeside frontage.
Our solution included remodeling parts of the hotel building, to increase the number of bedrooms from 19 to 40, including 10 family suites, an informal bar and dining space to complement the existing oak-panelled restaurant, a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, treatment rooms and a redesigned entrance and reception. The plans have helped Another Place achieve the distinct mix of active, social and relaxed hospitality for which it wants its hotels to be known.
Since then , HPA have continued to work with Another Place, most recently on the design of 10 new suites; comprising of 6 Garden Suites, 3 Shepherd’s Huts and 1 Tree House. We are pleased to say Planning Permission has been granted for these and we look forward to seeing the works progress onsite.
