Thwaite House is a wonderful 7-bedroom retreat, set in the hills of Coniston in the Lake District.
HPA worked with the owners to gently refurbish the property throughout, keeping as many original features as possible to respect the 17 Century building. Each room needed careful restoration as well as repairs and upgrades to the roof, windows, M&E systems, and thermal performance. Over the course of the project, HPA worked closely with the Client, consultants and contractors to bring this house back to life and suitable for modern day living.
The result is a beautiful, luxurious home, with high quality fixtures, and fittings throughout with a light yet cosy feel. Many of the original features have been restored and exposed, such as the timber trusses, stone fireplaces, decorative mouldings, and window openings. This house is now a truly unique home with lots of character whilst also being suitable for modern day life.
