Strands Barn Rural Business Offices - HPA

This project saw the construction of four purpose-built business units within a rural setting on the edge of the village of Hornby, in the picturesque Lune Valley.

The units range from 500 sq ft up to 1900 sq ft in size, and feature all the modern requirements such as high speed rural broadband and other facilities. Most importantly, the units have been designed to provide a light, airy, and enjoyable place to work.

HPA’s design was heavily influenced by the requirements of the local planning authority, who were keen to see a building of a traditional form and appearance built on what was the site of a former farm. The completed building appears to be two linked barns when viewed from a distance, and from the nearby main A683.

The main building was finished by Pinington Construction in early 2013, and the first tenant, Advanced Nutrition, occupied their unit shortly afterwards. HPA also obtained Planning Permission for an adjacent housing scheme for 10 dwellings.
