HPA helped St Peter’s Church, Heysham, to renovate and modernise their Church hall to provide an exciting resource centre for use by the Church and wider community.
TCL Developments undertook a major refurbishment project of the previously tired and dilapidated Church hall, which is located in a prominent position opposite the historic Grade I Listed St Peter’s Church, which dates back to the 8th century Saxon period.
The extensive refurbishment of the Church hall sees the creation of a new meeting room in previously underused roof space, a new parish office, and a complete overhaul of the ground floor meeting area, which is also used as a tea room during the summer months. The building also contains new heating, lighting, and insulation as well as some sustainable power generation methods.
The refurbished building provides more flexibility, allowing it to be used by many different user groups, in turn allowing the Church to generate some income. The Victorian-age building, which was converted from stables in the 1960s, is now energy-efficient and has improved disabled access.
