The plot this house sits on enjoys magnificent views towards the Three Peaks of the Yorkshire Dales. However, prior to this significant refurbishment and extension project, the only rooms that took full advantage of the view were the first floor studio and kitchen, which was also too small for dining.
HPA’s team of residential architects reordered the house and proposed an extension, on a single level, which wraps around the existing house.
The new zinc clad roof elegantly curves at the transition of the roof planes, reflecting the gentle contours of Ingleborough, a dominant feature of the vista from the new rooms.
The project was one of the finalists in the RIBA North West 350 Award for projects under £350,000.
