HPA were pleased to be invited to design the upgrade of Donkey Creek Caravan Park, located between Preston and Lytham, changing it from a campsite to a high-quality, 36-pitch touring caravan park, complete with a range of brand new facilities. The third of a million-pound refurbishment plan included a new reception, toilet block, laundrette, and warden accommodation – all built to the exacting standards of the National Touring Caravan Clubs.
The caravan site design also had to take into account strict Planning conditions associated with building close to the BAE runway, along with a number of important wildlife considerations that come with working in such an outstanding rural location.
AWARD-WINNING TOURING CARAVAN SITE
The highlight of the project is the stunning new washrooms. Within the new larch-clad building, visitors can enjoy large showers, private family bathrooms, underfloor heating, and full disabled access. These new facilities are so impressive that they were awarded a top Platinum accolade in the ‘Loo of the Year’ awards, making them one of the best in the country.
With 35 years of caravan site design experience from HPA, combined with half a century of operational experience from owners Paul and Jane Lancaster, it’s no surprise that advance bookings for the new Donkey Creek park are already “way beyond expectations“.
