HPA were pleased to assist with gaining Planning Approval and Building Regulations Approval on a recent project to create three outstanding new detached homes on Kirkby Lonsdale Road in the village of Adington, to the south east of Carnforth
AN EXCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT
The development, set among mature trees close to the Forest of Bowland, comprises three detached homes of the highest quality crafted from local materials. Each distinctive dwelling includes extensive glazing details and a feature fireplace, as well as luxury specifications such as ensuite bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, and bi-fold doors.
The five-bedroom property is built around a stunning central hallway with double height glazing and mezzanine balcony to the landing, while the two four-bedroom homes feature a stylish dining area that can be opened on three sides, using bi-fold doors to create a delightful al fresco experience.
CONSIDERATE DESIGNS
When creating properties in rural areas, it is essential that the designs fit with the local vernacular, matching materials, and style in sympathy with their area. This was achieved using natural sandstone, similar to that available locally, along with appropriate tones of paintwork and render. However, local considerations didn’t stop there.
One of the slightly unusual challenges of the site was the need to integrate it into the local ecosystem. The area is a known bat roosting area and one of the qualifications for Planning Permission was to create new bat roosts among the trees on the site to retain this important habitat. The HPA team worked in consultation with local wildlife experts to ensure that we made appropriate provisions for these important existing residents of the site.
Construction began in November 2019 and will continue throughout 2020.
