The Acorn House Acorn House Architects Lancaster

HPA worked with longstanding client Bendrigg Trust on a £1.5M improvement programme.

Bendrigg Trust specialises in delivering high quality courses for disabled and disadvantaged people. It aims to promote inclusion, encourage independence, and build self-confidence through the safe provision of adventurous activities.

This particular project saw the creation of a new fully wheelchair-accessible residential unit, named Acorn House, to replace an outdated facility at the site. Acorn House has 24-beds spread over two accommodation wings with 10 ensuite bedrooms sleeping two to four people in each.

As well as the accommodation, it has a central lounge, self-catering kitchen, dining area, and games room.
