A Year of Timeless Design: Celebrating HPA’s Timber Frame House in Silverdale
We reflect on a year since the completion of the rural timber frame house project in Silverdale. This marks a successful collaboration with our client and demonstrates our commitment to exceptional quality and sustainable design.
Situated in the heart of the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape, our project aimed to blend contemporary design with the agricultural surroundings that define the Silverdale area. We took great care to ensure that every aspect of the design resonated with sustainability and accessibility, crafting a future-proof, forever home for our clients.
To seamlessly integrate the building into the local landscape the Architects at HPA adopted a room-in-roof design, which allowed for a two-storey layout with a reduced roof height. This enabled the building to fit comfortably within its surroundings, blending in with the traditional barns found in the area.
The house has an impressive EPC A rating, due to features such as an air source heat pump and solar panels recommended by HPA. These elements not only minimize the environmental footprint but also lead to substantial cost savings for the homeowners. Specially treated glazing enhances heat efficiency, further contributing to lower running costs and reduced environmental impact over the long term.
As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing our journey of innovation and excellence in Architecture. Each project brings new challenges and opportunities, and we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of sustainable design whilst respecting the rich heritage of our surroundings.
